Service Technician – Grande Prairie

With its head office and manufacturing facilities located in Calgary; and service centre in Grande Prairie, C&V is able to service its customers across Western Canada.
The Service Technician will operate under the direction of the Service Manager and Grande Prairie Field Services Supervisor and will be responsible for the setup, repair, and servicing of C&V Portable Accommodations Ltd.’s products, including modular sleepers, offices, laboratories, electrical distribution units, and sewage treaters. Work will be required both at the C&V facility and on customer sites.
In addition, the candidate will be responsible for:
•Renovations and upgrades as required.
•Shop and tool maintenance, organization and cleanliness.
•Training new Service Technicians.
•Preparation for field work and ensuring truck inventory is maintained for service trips.
•Ensuring inventory is readily accessible and organized.
•Maintaining yard cleanliness and organization.
•Assisting with the set up and take down of equipment.
•Set up, service, repair and maintenance of equipment on site as outlined above in a professional and courteous manner.
•Providing cost effective solutions, both for the client and for C&V
•Travel as required to service equipment to meet customer’s needs. This may involve staying out of town for periods of time depending on workloads.
•Troubleshoot and service any possible problem which could occur to a unit in the field.
•Deliver products requested by customers to field sites.
•Communicate with required managers and other C&V employees to ensure operations flow seamlessly. This will involve communicating with other Field Service Technicians, Supervisors/ management and/or billing as well.
•Accountable for meeting estimate timelines and quality control.
•Filling in appropriate field paperwork.
•Following Company Policies and Procedures and adhere to all Company safety standards and Policies.

Knowledge, Education, Skills, Capabilities & Qualifications:
•Oilfield or construction experience and experience with setting up, repairing and maintenance of related equipment is preferred.
•Plumbing skills are an asset and Plumbers or Gas Fitters are preferred.
•Mechanically inclined with strong skills repairing and troubleshooting: furnaces, air conditioners, satellite systems, hot water heaters, water pumps, TV`s and entertainment systems and sewage systems.
•Electrical, HVAC and Carpentry skills are preferred.
•Experience setting up, maintaining and tearing out generator and power stations preferred.
•Strong knowledge of modular wellsite fleet.
•Solid understanding of company business practices and procedures.
•Computer skills are preferred.
•Ability to troubleshoot independently.
•Desire to provide top service for customers.
•Good interpersonal and communication skills; able to relate well with customers and coworkers.
•Flexible with time scheduling to meet customer needs.
•Self-motivated and able to work independently.
•Clean drivers abstract.
•Safety courses and related oilfield tickets are required (WHMIS, First Aid, H2S, PST, TDG, Fall Protection, company specific orientations etc.).
•Will have to go to the field in which case must:
oBe free of drugs and/or alcohol. Drug and alcohol tests will apply.
oAble to lift up to 80-100 lbs.
oField work is necessary which involves standing for long periods as well as crouching.
oAbility to drive for extended periods of time safely.
oMust be available to alternate on-call weekends and overtime will apply.
